Are you a dynamic, highly motivated nurse or midwife committed to improving patient outcomes and experience? DBTH is looking for an enthusiastic and committed midwife to join our Midwifery Matron team. This post is rotational within the maternity matron team, and you will initially be responsible for the inpatient areas at both Doncaster and Bassetlaw sites. You will be required to demonstrate effective leadership for your clinical areas, work collaboratively, manage complaints, promote and support best practice, and set professional standards. As a key member of the Senior Divisional leadership team, you will collaborate with the Divisional Director, Clinical Director, Business and Service managers, and multidisciplinary teams. The successful candidate will be proactive, have a proven track record of quality improvement, and ensure that service needs and patient experience are met to the high standards we aspire to. Main duties of the job

Demonstrate effective leadership for your clinical areas, working collaboratively, managing complaints, promoting best practice, and setting professional standards. Provide clinical and professional leadership and line management to the clinical teams, reporting to the Deputy Director of Midwifery and Gynaecology Service accountable to the Director of Midwifery and Gynaecology Service. Ensure the key functions of the modern matron are undertaken for the directorate. Be an integral member of the senior leadership team, providing midwifery advice, managing midwifery teams, having delegated budgetary responsibility, and contributing to innovative solutions to workforce and capacity management. Take responsibility for human and financial resources, contributing to key performance outcomes within the directorate. Act in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct. Qualifications/Training

Registered Midwife with Nursing & Midwifery Council Degree in Midwifery Evidence of Masters or working towards masters level Recognised management/leadership qualification (or working towards) Recognised teaching qualification Evidence of professional development Knowledge and Experience

Significant experience in a Band 7 or above role in a midwifery role within the last 3 years. Experience of service development, leading and managing change Experience of leading and managing a team Evidence of effective budgetary control Up-to-date knowledge of current midwifery policies Evidence of Qi projects led or involved with Experience of developing and implementing midwife-led services Experience of policy development and implementation Evidence of developing policy, guidelines, and managing resources Personal Attributes and Skills
