£13.86 per hour, plus £55.99 for overnights
Full or part time post available across early, late and overnight shifts
Hi there! I’m a happy, outgoing young adult who loves the outdoors. I’m looking for someone to support me in my home and out in the local community. Given my passion for the outdoors, the right candidate will be able to help me enjoy my favourite activities, including rollerblading, cycling, sailing and walking. I’m also involved with a local initiative collecting, cleaning and replacing bird feeders, and preparing bags of kindling to be sold by retailers. Supporting me in these activities and ventures – and discovering new ones – could be a long-term project for someone who’s fit, healthy and ideally a driver, and would make a massive difference to my life.
I do have quite complex care needs, including Autism and epilepsy, so the right candidate will also need to be prepared to provide personal care, administer medication, warm up meals and carry out some light housework.
The right candidate will be welcomed into an existing team of Personal Assistants, led by a Team Leader. Staff work with me on a 2:1 basis, and would be happy to chat with you about their experiences working with me and my family. You’ll also be shadowing them when starting out. While I’m ideally looking for candidates with experience of working with Autism, full training will be provided. My mum will be your employer, and they’d be happy to answer any questions you might have about the role and arrange for you to meet us prior to accepting a post.
