M&E Engineer (Pump Upgrades) Location:

Norfolk (Specific site location to be determined) The Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced M&E Engineer to join our team and contribute to the successful delivery of a pump upgrade project at a water treatment facility in Norfolk. You will play a key role in all aspects of the project, from design and installation to commissioning and handover. Key Responsibilities: Design & Engineering:

Contribute to the design and specification of mechanical and electrical systems for the pump upgrade project, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements. Review technical drawings and specifications for accuracy and completeness. Assist in the development of technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.

Installation & Commissioning:

Oversee the installation and commissioning of new pumps, motors, controls, and associated equipment. Ensure that installations are carried out safely and according to project specifications. Conduct commissioning tests and troubleshooting to ensure proper functionality.

Project Management:

Assist the project manager in planning, scheduling, and managing the M&E scope of the project. Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans. Monitor progress and identify potential risks or issues related to M&E works.

Safety & Compliance:

Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and procedures, including working in confined spaces, wearing personal protective equipment, and following company safety protocols. Ensure all work is performed in a safe and compliant manner. Contribute to the implementation of a strong safety culture on site.

Collaboration:

Work effectively with other project team members, including engineers, construction managers, subcontractors, and client representatives.

Required Qualifications and Experience: Essential: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in M&E design, installation, and commissioning, ideally within the water treatment or infrastructure sector. Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, including pumps, motors, control systems, and instrumentation. Familiarity with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., IET Wiring Regulations, BS 7671, ASME). Experience with construction documentation, drawings, and specifications. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively. Desirable: Experience working on pump upgrade projects or other water treatment facility improvements. Knowledge of SCADA systems and control systems used in water treatment plants. Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile). Familiarity with BAM Nuttall's project management processes. Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
