Mechanic / Fitter

to join our team in Beauly to oversee the maintenance and repair of our vehicle fleet and plant equipment.

What We Expect of You:

Conduct mechanical assessments on GCU vehicles and plant to determine repair needs, damages, and required parts.

Perform repairs and servicing on GCU-owned vehicles and plant, completing garage repair, service sheets, and defect rectifications.

Carry out function tests on plant equipment before issuing it to teams.

Manage the GCU Workshop Tagging System for proper storage and quarantine.

Ensure the safe use of workshop tools and chemicals, and maintain workshop security and tools at the end of each shift.

You should be time-served, holding a City and Guilds qualification or equivalent, ideally with an IRTEC Commercial Inspection Qualification. Previous experience in a relevant fitter or technician role is required. You must be proficient in workshop health and safety practices and able to work independently, managing your time effectively to meet deadlines. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as is proficiency in using computer systems for accurate record-keeping.
