Mechanical Analysis Engineer £35,000 - £40,000 DOE Greater Manchester The purpose of the Mechanical Analysis Engineer role is to provide accurate evaluation of mechanical systems, components, and structures, in accordance with company procedure and/or customer specification, through the use of analytical techniques and tools. The role is responsible for advising the business’ sales and design teams of the theoretical performance of products to specification, via analysis/calculation output. Key Responsibilities:

Produce hand calculations and FEA Analysis to deliver against project requirements (e.g. mechanical, structural, thermal, fatigue, acoustic, shock and blast). Responsible for ensuring self-prepared calculations are correct, concise, and considerate of all lifecycle forces/factors, prior to release into SQEP Analysis checker(s). Ensuring the use of correct design/calculation standards on all projects to deliver theoretical assurance. Work closely with design engineers to ensure designs, models, and drawings developed accurately reflect the theoretical analysis, advising on modifications as necessary, and logging changes in accordance with company procedure. Produce written reports, presentations, and calculation documents for customer approval. Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase departmental technical capabilities and improve efficiency. Contribute to R&D activities as required and discuss innovative design solutions for bespoke works with peers and superiors. Support new business enquiries with timely and accurate communication to the sales department, keeping the enquiry tracker up to date. Provide technical support on projects, liaising with customers as required. Responsible for achieving schedule adherence for all actions assigned to individual/role. Essential Skills & Experience Required:

Minimum HND in Engineering, plus 5 years’ experience producing calculations and analysis in a related engineering industry OR Minimum Bachelor’s degree (BEng Hons) in Engineering (preferably Mechanical Engineering). Minimum 3 years’ experience producing calculations and analysis in a related engineering industry. Ability to generate hand and software-based calculations (unaided) in accordance with common design standards (e.g. British standards & Eurocodes). Understanding of load paths, failure modes, and operating limits of steel structures/components. Ability to write technical reports and specifications. Desirable Skills & Experience:

Ability to use ANSYS FEA software unaided. Ability to use Autodesk 3D Inventor, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Vault. Awareness of door performance testing standards and guides. Understanding of drive and control systems operating principles. Knowledge of welding types, strengths, and limitations. Understanding of tolerance stacking, and the practical application of tolerances. Driven in the pursuit of becoming a Chartered Engineer.
