Are you a Mechanical Engineer, ideally with experience in preventative and corrective maintenance, fault finding, and implementing improvements, looking for your next challenge?

At Saint-Gobain Glass, we are looking for a Mechanical and Utilities Engineer to work on our Engineering Team, helping to plan, manage, and deliver maintenance tasks as well as continuous improvement projects on site.

This Mechanical and Utilities Engineer will be a part of the days team in our Engineering department. You'll need to be an excellent communicator as external contractor management is a huge part of the role, as well as planning and delegating shutdown works along with the day-to-day activities of the mechanical engineering function. We've got world-leading technology on site, so it's a varied role with lots to get stuck into.

This is a days-based role working Monday to Friday. In return for your skills and experience, we can offer you flexibility on start and finish times. We have some amazing facilities for you to take advantage of, such as a free to use on-site gym and a subsidised canteen, plus our opportunities for progression and development are endless!

What we're looking for:

Degree level or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering Demonstrable experience in a Maintenance/Mechanical Engineer role in a relevant industry Experience working with a wide range of mechanical assets such as rotating equipment, conveyor systems, pumps, gearboxes, mechanical drives, etc. Experience working with process gases such as natural gas, nitrogen, SO2, hydrogen, etc. Demonstrable experience and knowledge in managing safety pressure systems Experience in risk assessments i.e. hot works, confined space, work at height, excavations, etc. Positive can-do attitude with a proactive mindset The ability to identify and lead on projects Team player Experience with CI tools and methodologies

What you will be doing: Planning; shutdown works, weekly trade resource maintenance Managing planned, preventative maintenance External contractor management Fault finding, acting as technical lead Supporting shift teams and reporting back to area production managers Project management CAPEX investments
