Mechanical Design Engineer - Automotive - Northamptonshire - £40k The successful candidate will possess a degree or equivalent qualification in motorsport or automotive engineering. A solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles and proficiency in a 3D CAD package are essential. We value inclusive thinking and expect candidates to apply this mindset in the design of new components and systems. The company is an advanced engineering company specialising in the automotive, mobility, and motorsport industries. With a highly experienced team, covering all aspects of the engineering lifecycle, including concept definition, virtual optimisation, component design, component manufacture, vehicle build, and vehicle testing. Flexible Key Responsibilities: Design components and systems for a diverse range of micro-mobility, road and race cars, encompassing both classic and modern models. Integrate designs into systems and assemblies efficiently. Serve as a technical liaison with manufacturers, customers, and suppliers to ensure successful implementation of designs. Prepare comprehensive documentation for project completion, including Bill of Materials (BOMs), build programs, and detailed drawings. Participate in and lead design reviews with technical leads and customers. Create and manage 3D CAD models and assemblies. Produce 2D detail drawings. Travel to customer sites, & events as required.
