Mechanical Design Engineer focuses on we are seeking a mechanical engineer with a strong background in gearbox and transmission systems to support the analysis, validation and development of high-power mechanical drive.

What the role involves

• We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in gearbox and transmission systems to support the analysis, validation and development of high-power mechanical drive.
• Analysing gearbox performance, efficiency, thermal behaviour and power transfer characteristics.
• Supporting root cause investigations and failure analysis activities.
• Develop analytical models and engineering calculations for rotating machinery and transmission systems.
• Review and validate mechanical designs against operational and performance requirements.
• Analysing test data and correlate results with analytical predictions.

Skills and requirements

• This role is primarily analysis-focused, although candidates with design experience will be highly regarded.
• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Automotive transmission systems Gas turbines Marine propulsion Industrial rotating machinery Transmission design and development experience.
