Mechanical Design Engineer

for our successful and established engineering client based in Caithness and Sutherland. This is a permanent position with negotiable salary depending on experience, plus benefits and relocation allowance/assistance if relevant. Working Monday to Friday with an early finish on Fridays. You will be involved in developing mechanical systems and drawings, mixed design in plastics/metals, and designing electronic enclosures. Degree qualified with ideally 2+ years experience.

However, graduate applications will be considered. Responsibilities: Developing mechanical systems and drawings Producing design solutions to meet design and maintenance requirements for products Ensuring designs are correctly transformed into engineering drawings, Bills of Materials, and test procedures Ensuring manufacturability of design, incorporating Engineering Change Control Contributing to product improvement Writing reports and providing specifications, drawings, and relevant project documentation Performing engineering calculations to support design work Skills and Experience required for the Mechanical Design Engineer role: Educated to degree level or relevant experience within the Engineering, Renewables, Aerospace, Defence, Energy, and/or Environmental sectors An interest in mechanical assemblies and manufacturing techniques with knowledge of vacuum forming/injection moulding and the materials used Technically minded with demonstrated numerical and scientific ability and problem-solving skills Practical experience in Solidworks or similar CAD software There will be a requirement to pass UK security clearance with this role where you have full UK residency status.
