About the Role: As the Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be at the heart of our customer's product development team. Your key responsibility will be the electromechanical and packaging design of their electrical systems. You’ll lead the design process from concept to manufacture, ensuring prototypes meet UK & International standards. This role involves converting electrical schematics into actionable designs that support system manufacturing, installation, and ongoing service. Key Responsibilities: Develop 2D drawings and 3D models based on electrical AC & DC schematics. Work closely with the manufacturing team, test technicians, and suppliers to assemble and validate first-of-a-kind systems. Utilise Autodesk Inventor & AutoCAD, alongside Vault, to manage material libraries, BoM structures, and stage build models. Collaborate with the product development team to drive innovation and meet project deadlines. Provide support for prototype development, testing, and compliance. Utilise simulation tools such as Ansys for thermal and mechanical stress analysis (preferred but not essential). What We’re Looking For: Qualifications:

A degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. Membership in a Professional Engineering Society is a plus. Skills:

Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor & AutoCAD; experience in using simulation tools (e.g., Ansys); strong communication and project management skills. Experience:

A proven track record in electromechanical design within the energy sector or connected electrical products. Experience in working within an SME is desirable. Mindset:

A collaborative team player with a keen interest in low-carbon energy technology. Must possess excellent problem-solving skills, a sharp analytical mind, and an ability to bring innovative ideas to life. Please note: This role cannot offer sponsorship to any individual either now or in the future
