Our client is a very established and highly successful engineering and fabrication business. Due to their continued success, Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Mechanical Design Engineer.
The Role: The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for managing design projects from concept through to manufacturing, testing, and commissioning. Duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Work on a range of machine design projects including conveyor systems and other materials handling plant. Produce detailed 2D & 3D drawings for machinery layouts and sheet metal fabrications using AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Manage BOMs and ensure effective budget & cost control. Produce and accurately maintain up-to-date technical documentation and drawing management control. Liaise with clients and internal manufacturing teams to ensure builds are to specification.
Candidate: You will be a trained mechanical design engineer with previous knowledge & experience in sheet metal and/or special purpose machinery design. You will be competent in the use of AutoCAD and SolidWorks software and should be confident enough in your ability to run multiple projects simultaneously.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday
