Job Description Mechanical Design Engineer £45k depending on experience Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established UK owned company. With a strong order book they require additional designers to join their team. This would suit an ambitious Design Engineer looking for variety and autonomy, a cradle-to-grave engineering position. The materials designed are used in demanding applications and sold throughout the world. In particular, vehicles, so experience in this sector would be a distinct advantage. Providing quality products they are a globally recognised brand in their market. This is a great business which has been established for over 45 years. Offering the Mechanical Engineer lots of stability and autonomy on a variety of exciting projects. The Mechanical Design Engineer must have: Degree in engineering or equivalent Min 5yrs commercial experience with assembly drawings using a 3D CAD package (ProE, CATIA, Solidworks, Solid Edge, Inventor or similar) AutoCAD GDT and associated calculations Good working knowledge of stress analysis using FEA Microsoft Office (Excel etc.) and ideally understanding of an MRP system Good experience with engineering principles Responsibilities: Report to the Engineering Manager Assist with the mechanical design of technically complicated mechanical products Mould tool design, compression mould development and mould press design with other tooling equipment Stiffness / Torque calculations FE Analysis Test rig design When necessary work in the CAD / CAM work station with other engineers Update and modify equipment for production engineering Work closely with manufacturing team, CNC operators and design office Liaise with suppliers Produce excellent technical mechanical engineering drawings to industry standards Finalise Manufacturing drawings and fabricate product with manufacturing team Produce the necessary manufacturing and technical documentation Be familiar with industry standards All products are designed and built on site. A one-stop-shop for clients. Creating an exciting and variable job for the senior design engineer. In addition to excellent and proven Mechanical Engineering skills, the designer will also have experience of AutoCAD and have worked to ISO, BS or other regulation and standard.
