Our client, a leading manufacturing company operating in a heavy industrial environment have an ongoing requirement for an experience mechanical design engineer.
In this key role you will be involved in:
Producing creative, conceptual and detailed designs through the use of 3D CAD software to meet product/customer specifications, liaise with customers/suppliers on any technical requirements and/or related issues or concerns.
Producing and controlling detailed workshop drawings, specifications and bills of material within budget and specified timeframes
Interpreting customer requirements
Ensuring compliance throughout all engineering projects with relevant specifications, standards and safety regulations.
Evaluating new materials, new product concepts, manufacturing techniques and processes
Working to continuously improve the quality of the company’s products, participating in quality audits as required.
It is essential that the successful candidate will have:
Design engineering or relevant degree
Previous design knowledge and experience gained in sheet metal industry with at least 1 year’s design experience using Solidworks.
Proven mechanical design skills with the ability to interpret customer requirements
Strong communication skills as you will be expected to communicate effectively with clients, engineers & contractors.
Previous hands on experience within the excavator industry is a definite advantage but not essential
