Adept:us is recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer for a Wiltshire based client who operate in the Aerospace / Defence industry. The Mechanical Design Engineer will play a key role in delivering mechanical engineering work packages as part of an ambitious programme focused on design, development, and prototyping. Reporting to the Head of Mechanical Engineering, this role demands strong technical expertise and knowledge, along with the capability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced and dynamic engineering environment. This is a permanent position with the option of hybrid working arrangements. Essential Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree, HND, or HNC in an Engineering discipline (consideration given to Mechanical, Electrical, Robotic, Motorsport, Automotive, or Aeronautical fields). Experience:

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, interfacing product design and prototyping teams simultaneously. Technical Skills:

Proficient in performing basic first-principles hand calculations. Methodology:

Comfortable working within a fail-fast approach, embracing design, build, and test-to-failure processes to expedite programme delivery. Health and Safety:

Awareness of Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements. Software Proficiency:

Competent in using Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Excel as a minimum). CAD Expertise:

Skilled in using CAD software, ideally SolidWorks, with proven experience in creating 2D drawings to BS 8888 standards. Teamwork:

Proven ability to collaborate effectively within multi-disciplinary teams. Eligibility:

Must have the right to work in the UK. Desirable Attributes:

Hold a valid full UK driving license. Chartered Member of a recognised Engineering Institution highly desirable.
