With expansive growth over the last year and heading into next, this is an excellent opportunity to become a core member of a small design function. Key Responsibilities:

Design Contribution:

Lead the design process for current projects, turning concepts into fully realized, manufacturable production designs. CAD Expertise:

Utilize SolidWorks for detailed design modeling and AutoCAD or equivalent tools for supplementary design tasks. Material Selection & Fabrication:

Select appropriate engineering materials and apply knowledge of sheet metal forming, welding, and machining to ensure manufacturability. Marine Design Focus:

Design systems and components for the marine environment, ensuring proper packaging of mechanical, electrical, and control systems. Finite Element Analysis (FEA):

Use FEA software to validate designs, ensuring safety, performance, and durability. Project Collaboration:

Participate in internal and customer design reviews, ensuring feasibility and refining designs based on feedback. System Integration:

Design products that interface machine hardware, controls, and software to meet customer requirements. Documentation & Support:

Produce detailed design drawings, engineering documentation, and support fabrication, installation, and testing activities. Team Success:

Contribute to team success through active involvement in the full project lifecycle—from design to procurement, assembly, commissioning, and customer acceptance. Experience: 5+ years of mechanical design experience in industrial and/or marine sectors. Advanced user of SolidWorks and AutoCAD, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel). Strong understanding of material selection, fabrication methods (sheet metal, welding, machining), and mechanical engineering principles. Degree in design or engineering discipline. Knowledge of marine mechanical design, with the ability to integrate electrical/control systems effectively. Experienced in applying Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to design validation. Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Marine or naval mechanical engineering experience is highly desirable.
