6 Months Due to an increase in certain sectors of the business, we are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer who will be working on a wide range of designs covering repeat and new upcoming projects. This role will encompass everything from small client-requested adjustments for existing products to full R+D projects on brand new to market solutions. The ideal candidates will have experience in pressure vessel design and codes, machined/fabricated components, carbon & stainless steel, and weld details. The mechanical design engineer will be responsible for creating and developing detailed designs for mechanical components and systems. They will collaborate with other engineers and professionals to ensure the functionality, reliability, and safety of their designs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and experience in using various design software. They should also have excellent problem-solving skills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. What you will accomplish together with us: Developing 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using Inventor and Solid Works. Supporting the development of products with understanding of performance requirements, including all aspects of the product design criteria, product function and customer needs. Ensuring quality in a product's design for usability, reliability, functionality, marketability, and ease of manufacture. Supporting efforts to verify and validate new product designs. Review of mechanical design calculations, fabrication drawings and Job package for pressure vessels, columns, and storage tanks in accordance with Design Code, Client datasheet and Specifications. Applying design to cost and design for manufacturability methods to support Operations Team in achievement of project objectives. Contributing as a team member on projects carrying out assigned responsibilities. Working collaboratively with other team members in all aspects of work, including observing all Health and Safety measures. Research concept ideas using mathematical modelling to work out whether new developments and innovations would work and be cost effective. Analyse the Engineering and Project input to interrogate it, reach an agreement and integrate it formally in a Design solution.
