Samuel Frank is recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a successful, bespoke, special purpose machine manufacturer based in West Yorkshire. Key aspects of the Mechanical Design Engineer role include: Competent in technical aspects of mechanical design and development of special purpose machinery. Innovative and solutions-driven whilst being resourceful and often working autonomously. Expected to run with a project from start to finish, designing entire machines whilst working to standards such as CE marking. Experience of working within a multi-skilled environment (i.e., knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical components). Good experience in both 2D & 3D CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD. Provide a high level of commercial awareness to ensure design solutions are delivered in a cost-effective manner & design changes are managed in accordance with standard operation procedures. Office-based role of 37.5 hours per week with an early finish on Fridays and flexible start and finish times. Overtime per year, based on 1 hour overtime per day, on a basic salary of £55k, would result in approximately £6500 per year in overtime payments. 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays plus the option to buy another 5 days. The company has a satellite office located in Somerset where this role could also be based (with a bedding-in period required in West Yorkshire).
