Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a passion for marine propulsion to contribute to the development of advanced systems for both commercial and military vessels. You will be responsible for the design, analysis, and testing of propulsion components, ensuring the highest standards of performance, reliability, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop mechanical components and systems for marine propulsion systems, including engines, gearboxes, and propellers. Conduct detailed engineering calculations and simulations to support design decisions and ensure optimal performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including naval architects, electrical engineers, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions. Oversee the prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical systems and components. Identify opportunities for design improvements to enhance efficiency, performance, and reliability. Prepare technical documentation, reports, and specifications to support design, manufacturing, and regulatory approval. Ensure all designs comply with industry standards and regulations, including safety and environmental requirements. Participate in design reviews and support the resolution of technical challenges during the development and implementation phases.

Skills & Experience:

A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in mechanical design engineering within the marine propulsion industry or a closely related field. Strong knowledge of propulsion systems, including engines, gearboxes, shafts, and propellers. Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD) and design analysis tools. Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) tools is highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. Knowledge of marine industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
