Mechanical Design Engineer

As a result of increasing workload, we are now seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to work as part of our experienced design team at our Rugby site. The activity undertaken by our Engineering Department is both diverse and challenging as it covers all aspects of the design, manufacture and repair of machines which are often highly complex. Key Responsibilities & Accountability

Mechanical design of new machinery (both the stator, rotor components and complete machines), upgrades and retrofits Undertaking CAD design of complex components Root cause analysis of failed machinery Production of repair instructions for failed equipment Undertaking engineering activity, including client facing aspects, during all phases of specific projects Undertaking diagnostic activity on machinery prior to failure, including on site analysis of machine condition and compilation of life assessment reports Providing service and maintenance support Completing stress analysis including FEA Assisting the tendering and project management teams with winning new projects and then providing technical oversight thorough to completion Producing test methodologies and instructions for the dynamic testing of large machines and subsequent analysis of results Qualifications, Experience & Personal Attributes

Demonstrable experience of working in an engineering design environment previously Familiarity with a variety of manufacturing techniques Ability to work either as part of a team and independently when required Understanding of rotating machines such as motors, generators, turbines, pumps or comparable equipment desirable Degree qualified with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience If you are interested in applying for this role please send your CV and letter of application explaining how you meet the requirements of the role to: Quartzelec is an equal opportunities employer.
