Mechanical Design Engineer
to join our team in the UK: Key Responsibilities:
Design mechanical systems for spacecraft, including structure, thermal, and mechanisms, including troubleshooting design issues. Conduct mechanical requirements review, ensuring compliance with ECSS standards. Act as the technical interface with other internal technical areas and external suppliers. Support the fabrication, assembly, and testing of prototypes. Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations to communicate design and test results to the team. Perform component dimensioning through hand calculations using a static equivalent loads approach. Draft manufacturing documentation and assembly procedures. Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical design. Proven experience in managing aerospace projects, demonstrating familiarity with ECSS standards and requirements. Background in FEM modeling and analysis. Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and assembly techniques used in the aerospace industry. Proficiency in CAD software; background in CAD PTC Creo software is a plus. Language:
