Mechanical & Electrical Supervisor | Pharmaceutical, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical

Location: West Sussex | Long-Term Contract Position

ENG Bauen is supporting a global leader in the pharmaceutical industry to enhance their construction management team for a high-profile capital project.

We are seeking a technically skilled Mechanical & Electrical Supervisor to join the Project Delivery Function, managing all M&E construction activities from FEED through to commissioning. This role requires a high degree of technical oversight in a heavily regulated environment, often on live operational sites, where precision, safety, and compliance are critical.

As an M&E Supervisor, you will play a critical role in managing complex mechanical and electrical systems across all project phases, ensuring that construction is executed to stringent industry standards. Responsibilities include overseeing the installation, testing, and commissioning of systems, coordinating with project stakeholders, and implementing risk management strategies to guarantee seamless project delivery within budget and timeline constraints.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all M&E construction activities, including installation, commissioning, and quality assurance of HVAC, piping, instrumentation, and control systems, ensuring alignment with industry codes and project specifications.
  • Supervise the interface between mechanical and electrical systems and other project areas, ensuring seamless integration of components.
  • Monitor and control project progress, ensuring adherence to time and cost objectives, and tracking material and resource allocation for optimal productivity.
  • Operate within a heavily regulated, live environment, applying rigorous HSE and regulatory standards to all construction activities, with a focus on minimizing disruption to operational sites.
  • Liaise with multidisciplinary teams, including design engineers, procurement, and QA/QC, to ensure that technical and project milestones are achieved.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience in the supervision of M&E systems on major capital projects, ideally within Pharmaceutical, Oil & Gas, Chemical, or Petrochemical sectors, with extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation standards.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years in a project management or supervisory role, with demonstrated success in managing large-scale, technically complex projects through all construction phases.
  • Strong practical experience in M&E installation, commissioning, and validation on regulated projects, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical challenges in real-time.
  • Strong leadership skills with the capability to communicate effectively with project stakeholders and lead a multidisciplinary team.

If you are a technically proficient M&E Supervisor with the experience and skills to excel on a high-value project, please submit your CV or apply directly via the ENG Bauen website.
