MECHANICAL ENGINEER - ROCHDALE AREA
Are you an experienced heavy industry Mechanical Engineer, looking for a new role with a growing company that puts its people first? Reporting to the Service Team Manager, the successful applicant will be expected to maintain, service, and repair vacuum tanker and material handling equipment at their Heywood (Greater Manchester) depot and various customer sites across the UK. This role will be based out of Heywood, near Manchester, but some travel across the UK to various customer sites is required. Overtime and work away allowances are paid for all overnight stays. Schedule:
Monday to Friday: 8am to 5pm Salary:
£35k Basic plus overtime at 1.5 times Benefits include: 1 week working away in every 54 nights, all accommodation and travel covered, paid at £25 NET for every night away Pension, 5% matched employer contribution Free Private medical care scheme including dental and eye care Yearly medicals, eye care vouchers, and schemes for childcare vouchers 31 days holiday per year Team building and company events with quarterly company events Company canteen with free tea, coffee, and onsite washing and drying facilities for company clothing Excellent road networks near the depot and onsite parking Company clothing provided, including all coats, jackets, shirts All health and safety clothing and training provided No shared service vehicles; you will be its only driver, all service vehicles air-conditioned with fridge and food warming equipment Key Responsibilities: Working with an assortment of own designed and built vacuum tankers and material handling equipment, which is then mounted on trucks, trailers, and trains Managing own work in progress Ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately Being an active team player Sustaining the company's prestigious reputation Traveling to sites around the UK Skills & Experience Required: NVQ Level 3 qualified in Plant, Vehicle Maintenance or similar or proven experience Preferably served a full apprenticeship, but not essential Experienced Plant Fitter, FLT Engineer, Vehicle Technician, HGV Technician, Crane or Hiab technician, or similar industry will all be considered for this opportunity Experience in Hydraulics, Pneumatics, 12 and 24-volt electrics is advantageous Experience of working in heavy or industrial engineering is preferred Hold a full UK driving Licence If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.
