Bristol, Manchester, Silchester, or Glasgow (with flexibility for occasional work at client sites) Clearance – SC Clearance or Ability to Obtain About the Role: We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the delivery of critical defence and nuclear projects. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the design, analysis, and implementation of innovative mechanical solutions that drive the success of complex engineering projects across the UK. Key Responsibilities: Develop and deliver mechanical engineering designs, ensuring alignment with project specifications and industry standards. Conduct detailed analyses and simulations to validate mechanical system performance. Collaborate with project partners, clients, and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems into overall project designs. Support engineering substantiation activities, providing technical justification for designs and modifications. Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, reports, and operational manuals. Ensure designs meet safety, reliability, and performance requirements, adhering to regulatory standards. Provide technical leadership on mechanical engineering tasks, guiding teams to successful project delivery. What You’ll Bring: Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer, ideally within defence, nuclear, or other highly regulated industries. A degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field, with a minimum classification of 2:1 (or equivalent). Chartered status, or actively working towards it. Strong technical expertise in mechanical design, analysis, and engineering principles. Proficiency in relevant software tools for design and analysis. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to innovate in complex technical environments. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
