Sweco is currently recruiting for an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join our innovative Building Services team. Could this be you?

The position could be based in either London or Maidenhead; however, we work on a hybrid basis which means you'll spend at least three days per week in the office with the team but can work from home the other two days if you wish.

What does the role involve?

As an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer, you'll be responsible for supporting the delivery of a wide variety of projects for several key clients within a multidisciplinary design team. You'll cover a wide range of activities from project feasibility through to detailed design and construction support, working on a number of small, medium, and large iconic projects.

Typically you will:

Produce design deliverables including calculations, drawings, sketches, reports, etc. to achieve the optimum engineering solution for the project in accordance with the Integrated Management System and project requirements.

Check supplier proposals against project requirements.

Liaise with and manage equipment suppliers during project execution.

Participate in technical reviews and internal project review meetings.

Recommend/implement improvements to technical policy, processes, and design solutions.

What do you need to be successful in the role?

You'll have a recognised academic qualification in Building Services such as a Degree, HND, or HNC and be working towards a recognised professional qualification and Chartership/membership of an appropriate professional body such as CIBSE.

Familiarity with BREEAM will be an advantage, as would energy assessment qualifications and experience of working on high-rise and technically complex buildings.

You'll have experience in a similar role or you may be a graduate looking to take your next step.
