- Analysing gearbox performance, efficiency, thermal behaviour and power transfer characteristics.
- Supporting root cause investigations and failure analysis activities.
- Develop analytical models and engineering calculations for rotating machinery and transmission systems.
- Review and validate mechanical designs against operational and performance requirements.
- Test teams to optimise mechanical performance.
- Analysing test data and correlate results with analytical predictions.
Skills and requirements
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience working with gearbox, transmission or driveline systems.
- Experience working with high-power rotating equipment and power transmission systems.
- Experience conducting stress, fatigue, durability or reliability assessments.

- Mechanical Engineer – Gearbox & Transmission Design - 6 Month Contract (Outside IR35).
- Duration: 6 Months (This will likely extend).
- Rate: £50ph to £68ph (DOE).
- Working Arrangement: 1 day on average per week Onsite.
