Mechanical Engineer – Gearbox & Transmission Design – 6 Month Contract (Outside IR35)

What the role involves

• Analysing gearbox performance, efficiency, thermal behaviour and power transfer characteristics.
• Supporting root cause investigations and failure analysis activities.
• Develop analytical models and engineering calculations for rotating machinery and transmission systems.
• Review and validate mechanical designs against operational and performance requirements.
• Test teams to optimise mechanical performance.
• Analysing test data and correlate results with analytical predictions.

Skills and requirements

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience working with gearbox, transmission or driveline systems.
• Experience working with high-power rotating equipment and power transmission systems.
• Experience conducting stress, fatigue, durability or reliability assessments.

Confirmed role details

• Mechanical Engineer – Gearbox & Transmission Design - 6 Month Contract (Outside IR35).
• Duration: 6 Months (This will likely extend).
• Rate: £50ph to £68ph (DOE).
• Working Arrangement: 1 day on average per week Onsite.
