Come and join our talented team as a Junior Mechanical Engineer where you will play a vital role in shaping some of our exciting projects. Purpose of Position Within the Engineering team, the Mechanical Engineer will integrate operational engineering multi-disciplines teams delivering projects at various phases, from FEED to commissioning, or in assistance to Plant Operation in the UK. As a Mechanical Engineer at Orano Limited, you will be involved in a variety of specialist tasks. This could include: Supporting/delivering and organising technical studies/projects. Supporting the design of mechanical processes, from strategic and conceptual phases to detailed design and construction & commissioning phase support. Typical supporting deliverables that will be issued include: technical notes, substantiation notes, mechanical flow diagrams and flow-sheets, mechanical drawings, P&IDs, hazards and malfunctions management, and technical specification documentation review from supply chain. Technical studies related to mechanical handling for both handling operations and heavy mechanical transfer systems, powder mechanical processes (transport, milling, and compaction) in high active environments and gloveboxes, compaction and mechanical dismantling technologies. Technical networking within Orano, including with Orano experts. Close working relationships with other Orano sites and client sites may be required, which necessitates regular travel to those sites (dependent upon project). This role is based in our Warrington office. Preferred Role Requirements: 4+ Years’ experience as a Graduate/Assistant Mechanical Engineer Experience of engineering design (development, FEED, detailed design, technical specification, documentation review from supply chain) in the nuclear industry or other regulated sectors Experience of mechanical studies delivery (Mechanical handling, powder technologies) considering manufacture, testing, construction commissioning, operation, maintenance recovery and decommissioning aspects Experience of contractor follow-up in the nuclear industry or other regulated sectors Experience of delivering projects for Sellafield, AWE or Magnox sites (desirable) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or other relevant degree Associate member of relevant professional body Be able to hold a minimum of ‘SC’ UK Security Clearance Previous experience in a Nuclear Site or other highly regulated site
