Mechanical Engineer

Contract Mechanical Site Engineer 12 month contract Opportunity to help deliver the UK's largest Gas Peaking project We are seeking a skilled and experienced Contract Mechanical Site Engineer to join the Principal Contractor on a gas peaker construction site. This is a 12-month contract position. Responsibilities: Conduct FAT/SAT testing to ensure compliance with project specifications. Manage deliveries on site, coordinating with suppliers and logistics. Collaborate with the project team to ensure high-quality installation by subcontractors. Monitor and enforce health, safety, and environmental standards. Supervise and inspect mechanical installations, ensuring adherence to design specifications and standards. Coordinate and communicate with other engineering disciplines to resolve interface issues. Prepare and maintain accurate site documentation, including progress reports, logs, and inspection records. Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and regulations. Assist in the preparation and review of method statements and risk assessments. Provide technical support and guidance to the site team and subcontractors. Attend site meetings and provide updates on progress and any issues encountered. Oversee the commissioning and handover process of completed installations. Requirements: Proven experience as a Mechanical Site Engineer on construction projects. Mechanical qualification Strong understanding of FAT/SAT testing procedures. Excellent organisational and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations. Familiarity with mechanical installation techniques and standards. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
