Mechanical Engineering Manager – Platform Systems
Location:
Coventry. This is an onsite position
What you’ll be doing:
Develop design solutions to agreed time, cost and quality in accordance with project or business milestones
Understand the contractual and performance requirements for various systems, and support the definition and associated acceptance criteria and events through design and into build, integration, installation and commissioning activities
Lead teams to produce documentation required to support the design review process, including: diagrams; technical specifications; supporting calculations; design evidence and justifications
Ensure design proving and contractual evidence is comprehensive, captured within the requirements management tools and has been endorsed by the appropriate level of authority
Undertake design and presentations to customers and suppliers
Lead the review of relevant supplier documentation and ensure it is captured and recorded appropriately
Your skills and experiences:
Demonstrable experience in the delivery of mechanical systems through the development lifecycle
Comprehensive experience of applying technical expertise across the full engineering lifecycle
Knowledge and experience specifying mechanical equipment and components (heat exchangers, pumps, diesel generators, hydraulic plant, compressors, etc)
BEng (Hons) / MEng or equivalent in a relevant STEM degree
CEng or capable of achieving CEng
Recognised leadership qualification (CMI, ILM etc) appropriate to the level of responsibility
The Platform Systems team:
As the Mechanical Engineering Manager in Platform Systems you will have the opportunity to work with a newly forming team based within our new site in Coventry. Working on the SSNA Programme you will support and oversee multiple sub-teams comprising of talented Senior and Principal Engineers to deliver various mechanical systems / equipment for SSNA.
