Mechanical Engineer

at DRA you will be hands on in providing timely and professional delivery of project deliverables in accordance with the company, client and projects requirements such as but not limited to: Design calculations and equipment selection, for various applications including bulk materials handling systems, slurry & hydraulic systems, mechanical platework etc. Assisting with the creation, implementation and maintenance of project specific procedures, work practices, plans and protocols to improve efficiency including Scopes of Work, Specifications, Datasheets and Technical Evaluation of Tender Submissions. Review Vendor documentation and facilitate incorporation into project designs with specific reference to ensuring constructability, operability and maintainability. Ensuring compliance with the project specific requirements and current industry work codes and standards. Execute project delivery within schedule, budget and quality criteria with a strong focus on safety. Pro‑actively work to identify risks, both project and technical, and taking appropriate action to ensure successful project outcomes. Willingness to attend site for short to medium term construction support, commissioning and/or operational support roles as required. About You Our ideal candidate would be technically savvy, good at expressing themselves, self-motivated, and able to manage their own workload plus that of a small project team. They will possess: Bachelor of Engineering - Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent with ideally 7 + years of experience. Previous experience in mining and mineral processing within an EPCM. Experience in designing and constructing facilities for base metals, rare earth minerals, and mineral processing. Innovative thinker with a solutions-focused approach to problems and the ability to work autonomously to deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and Word. Proficiency with MicroStation – highly beneficial. Excellent attitude, team focus and commitment towards safety. Well-developed communication (written and verbal) and organisational skills.
