Mechanical Estimator
Our client is a well-established mechanical and electrical contractor based in Bexley, Kent. Due to a prolonged upturn in works and a busy order book well into 2025, they are looking to expand their extensive team and are now seeking a mechanical estimator.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with one of Kent's leading specialist contractors on new build commercial developments across the region.
Working Monday to Friday, offering a salary of £60k - £80k plus package.
Responsibilities:
Compiling mechanical estimates for the company's projects.
Assessing material, labour, and equipment required.
Analysing different quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client.
Performing risk and value management and cost control.
Advising on procurement strategy.
Identifying, analysing, and developing responses to commercial risks.
Preparing and analysing costings for tenders.
Submitting bids.
Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports.
Valuing completed work and arranging payments.
Preparing and submitting final accounts.
Making valuations.
Providing advice and forecasts about costs.
Candidate Requirements:
Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
Technically competent with a good understanding of mechanical installation methods and pricing.
Experience on large commercial projects.
Strong mathematical and IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Immediate start available.
