The Company
You will be working for an M&E contractor that is a family business formed over 50 years ago with a national presence. This client works with a variety of different clients but has more recently focused on public sector-related projects, typically on new large-scale projects. The organisation offers services including mechanical design, installation, and maintenance.
The Role You will prepare mechanical estimates for time, cost, materials, schedule of rates, and labour. Liaise with clients, consultants, and other personnel to formulate estimates and resolve issues. Prepare mechanical estimates and maintain a directory of suppliers and subcontractors. Meet the client as necessary to discuss their requirements and provide advice accordingly. You will send out enquiries to suppliers and subcontractors. Take-off the drawings and input them into estimation software. Carry out an analysis of received quotations to ensure compliance with the tender information. Complete a tender analysis including preliminary costs. The Candidate You will need to come from a Mechanical or HVAC background within Building Services or a similar field. While experience in Mechanical Estimation is preferable, other related backgrounds, such as Mechanical Design, are also highly considered. Preferably, you will have worked for another leading M&E subcontractor before.
