As the company continues to expand, they are seeking a skilled Mechanical Estimator to join their growing team. Job Overview: We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically proficient Mechanical Estimator to join the team. The ideal candidate will have experience estimating mechanical services, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), pipework, and other related systems. The role can be filled by either an intermediate-level estimator looking to develop their career or a senior-level estimator with extensive experience in the mechanical contracting industry. Key Responsibilities: Prepare Estimates: Accurately prepare detailed mechanical estimates for a range of projects, including commercial, industrial, and residential works. This includes estimating labour, materials, and equipment costs, as well as identifying project risks and opportunities. Review Tender Documents: Carefully analyze tender documents, specifications, drawings, and other client requirements to produce precise cost breakdowns. Site Visits: Conduct site surveys and assessments where necessary to gain a clear understanding of project scope, existing conditions, and any site-specific challenges. Collaborate with the Design Team :

Work closely with engineers, project managers, and the procurement team to ensure accurate cost estimates and technical compliance. Cost Control and Budget Management: Monitor and track project budgets during the estimation phase and ensure the final estimate reflects all project requirements. Supplier and Subcontractor Liaison: Obtain quotes and engage with suppliers, subcontractors, and manufacturers to ensure that all material and labour costs are accounted for. Value Engineering: Offer cost-effective solutions and value engineering alternatives where applicable to meet the client's budget without compromising on quality. Bid Submission: Prepare and submit competitive, detailed, and professionally presented tenders and bids in a timely manner. Client Communication: Maintain clear communication with clients, architects, and other stakeholders to clarify project details, pricing, and timelines as needed. Risk Management: Identify potential risks within the project scope and provide mitigation strategies during the estimation phase. Skills & Experience: Mechanical Estimating Experience :

Minimum 2 years (for intermediate candidates) or 5+ years (for senior candidates) of estimating experience in the mechanical contracting industry, including HVAC, plumbing, pipework, and associated systems. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, building services, and construction methodologies. Project Experience: Proven experience estimating for a wide variety of mechanical projects, including both large-scale commercial and residential developments. Software Proficiency :

Experience with estimating software (e.g., EstimatorXpress, Buildsoft, or similar tools) and advanced proficiency in MS Excel. Attention to Detail: Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with a high level of accuracy in preparing estimates and reviewing documents. Communication Skill s:

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present estimates to clients, stakeholders, and senior management. Time Management: Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously and work efficiently to meet tight deadlines. Health & Safety Knowledge: Understanding of relevant health and safety regulations within the construction and mechanical contracting industries. Qualifications: Relevant degree or qualification in mechanical engineering, building services, or a related field is preferred (but not essential). CSCS card (or equivalent) would be an advantage.
