Non fixed term The Installed Base BU is in charge for Framatome's nuclear engineering and services for operating nuclear plants, for new build projects and for installations in the decommissioning phase. In the UK we are currently over 300 strong and our plans are to grow to 400-500 by 2025 through the development of our UK nuclear service offerings. Due to ongoing projects and growth, we are looking to recruit a number of Mechanical Fitters for our Hinkley Point C project. Reporting to the Working Supervisor and overall Site Manager, the Mechanical Fitters will be required to install, strip out, overhaul and refurbish mechanical equipment, using knowledge of mechanical, metallurgy, and engineering requirements, interpreting GA / CAD and ISO drawings. Key responsibilities will include: Work from detailed engineering drawings Adhere to procedures, relevant quality procedures and assist with quality records and documentation Maintain equipment and small tools for assembly / calibration Detailed QHSE responsibilities: Never undertake work without first ensuring that means will be in place to guarantee that the work can be done in a safe and compliant manner. Be suitably familiar with the contents of the Risk Assessment and Method Statements and Permit to Work Attend any HSE training, meetings, etc. as requested. Attend & participate in Toolbox Talks. Ensure that tools, equipment and materials brought into and used in the area are fully checked and are compliant with HSE requirements. Ensure that no work is carried out unless supported by the relevant specific Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Work Permits. Ensure that all incidents and near misses are reported Profile

To be considered, the following qualifications, skills and experience are required: NVQ Level 3 or above in relevant mechanical qualification (essential) City & Guilds Medium Confined Space Level 2 (desirable) NVQ Level 3 Occupational Work Supervision (desirable) Fundamental understanding of mechanical equipment installation methods. Experience with rotating & static equipment Experience in skilful, controlled manipulations of small objects & torquing techniques & processes Experience of testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning processes Read and understand detailed drawings Used to working in a construction, production and engineering environment Knowledge of current Health & Safety regulations Team working ability Works calmly under pressure Challenges what is considered unacceptable behaviours A SAFETY CRITICAL MEDICAL WILL BE REQUIRED FOR CONFINED SPACE ENTRY, WORKING AT HEIGHT AND THE SLIGNER / SIGNALLER FUNCTION WITHIN THE ROLE Rate: £27.12 per hour (ECSA Agreement) Benefits/ allowances: ECSA agreement Job location
