Mechanical Fitter Woking 27-30k Mechanical Fitter Urgently Required to work for a leading manufacturing organisation based in Woking. This is a mechanical Fitter role with a difference as you will be working on the assembly, service, repair, and maintenance of both new equipment and equipment on the service plan from customers. Working within a specialist area of the business, you will be fitting and assembling gas machines and very small pipework used in ground support equipment. Supporting the business with machining using mills, lathes, etc. You will become the hands-on specialist for this department and take on a key role. Full product training will be given; however, you must be able to meet the basic principles laid out below. Key Roles: You will assume responsibility for the production/repair/service (in-house) for the range of Aircraft Ground Support Equipment principally: Oxygen & Nitrogen panel production/repair & service function Wheel & Brake units and trailers Providing hands-on in-house support including kitting and picking for production requirements Responsible for all in-house engineering jobs, repairs, and manufacturing contract repairs and projects: Manufacture, assemble, inspect, service, and repair work of the ground support equipment as required. Small batch and one-off manufacturing. Repair of associated equipment. Liaise with management relating to any quality issues relating to customer requirements (NCR) & supplier performance (ISO9001). Ideal Knowledge: Use of hand tools and power tools such as drills, grinders, and sanders. Use of machine shop equipment including mills, lathes, saws, tube bender, and hydraulic tube bender. Assembly of ground support equipment and similar products. Packing and protection of parts and products for shipping.
