Select Recruitment is proud to partner with a well-established and renowned Manufacturing/Engineering company based in Norwich. Due to consistent growth and expansion, our client is actively seeking a talented Mechanical Fitter to join their dynamic team.

Role Overview: As a Mechanical Fitter, you will play a crucial role in the mechanical assembly of a diverse range of products. You will be responsible for taking products from the picking areas and using technical drawings and directions to build and manufacture products from component to sub-assembly level.

Key Responsibilities: Perform mechanical assembly of various products, ensuring high standards of quality and precision. Follow detailed technical engineering drawings and directions to construct products accurately. Utilise a variety of hand and electric tools for bench fitting tasks. Operate manual machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, and pedestal drills. Use precision measurement equipment like micrometres, verniers, and slip gauges to ensure exact specifications. Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key Skills and Relevant Experience: Strong ability to read and fully understand technical engineering drawings. Excellent bench fitting skills with a proficiency in using a range of hand and electric tools. Competence in operating manual machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, and pedestal drills. Experience with precision measurement equipment such as micrometres, verniers, and slip gauges. Completion of a recognised apprenticeship as a Mechanical Fitter, Machine Builder, Assembly Technician, or a related field.
