Mechanical Fitter / Shift Engineer Shifts:

2 Weeks of Monday to Friday 7am – 4pm, 1 Week of Monday to Friday 2pm – 10pm, 1 Week of Monday to Thursday 6pm – 3am Salary:

£39,000 to £40,000 per annum + Benefits Location:

Near Humberside Airport - Commutable from Grimsby, Barton-upon-Humber, Brigg, Scunthorpe, Doncaster, Immingham, Market Rasen, Gainsborough and surrounding areas

The Opportunity This successful heavy plant manufacturing company offers challenging and rewarding careers for their large team of Mechanical Maintenance Engineers & Mechanical Fitters. Through continued growth, they are now seeking a Mechanical Fitter / Shift Engineer with experience in Planned Preventative Maintenance and responding to breakdowns within a team environment.

Responsibilities Along with planned & reactive maintenance, the Mechanical Shift Engineer will also have the opportunity to undertake projects and improvement work to both plant machinery & building infrastructure across this highly automated production facility. Requiring a proactive approach and good attention to detail, the Mechanical Shift Engineer must have a good understanding of Health, Safety & Environmental practices, ensuring work is completed in accordance with the CMMS & the company's EH&S guidelines.

Skills & Experience Good Mechanical Maintenance skills including some of the following: Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Chains, Bearings, Shafts, Seals, Motors, Welding, Fabrication, etc. Good troubleshooting & diagnostics skills Experience of mechanical equipment inspections & jobs issued via the CMMS schedule Maintain & update files/records using the CMMS system Ensure spares are kept to optimum levels and spares used in PPM or repairs are recorded to enable Stores inventory to be updated accurately Ideally an NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Mechanical Engineering Good ability to read technical drawings Able to work at height and in confined spaces with relevant training provided Computer literate, with a good working knowledge of MS Office packages Good communication and team skills Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision.
