Location: Worcester Salary: £16.00-£17.50 per hour Hours: Monday to Friday (37.5 hours)

Job Summary:

Are you an experienced Mechanical Fitter looking for an opportunity to work with a well-established and innovative company? Do you have a strong background in mechanical fitting and a passion for producing high-quality work? Our client specializes in creating advanced equipment for engine and drivetrain test cells and is seeking a skilled individual to join their production team.

Experience Required:

Proven hands-on experience in mechanical fitting (fabrication experience would be advantageous). Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and Bills of Materials. Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work. Good problem-solving skills and the ability to provide constructive feedback on designs and workflows. Experience in MIG welding (minimum of 2 years required). Familiarity with conducting quality checks and tests on mechanical components. Ability to guide and mentor less experienced team members or apprentices.

Key Responsibilities:

Assemble mechanical components, products, and assemblies based on technical drawings and specifications. Perform mechanical fitting tasks for designs created by the Mechanical Design Team. Conduct quality checks and tests on completed work to ensure the highest standards are met. Provide feedback on technical drawings, identifying errors and suggesting improvements. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all work completed. Support and improve departmental processes by identifying issues and offering solutions. Help manage workshop organization and ensure the workspace remains clean and tidy. Report to the Production Supervisor and communicate effectively regarding job progress. Highlight and address stock level issues to ensure the availability of consumables.
