Alfa Laval UK&I are looking for a Mechanical Fitter/ Engineer to join our team currently based in Camberley.

This is a full-time role working within our Service Centre in Camberley.

You will be reporting to the Team Manager of High-Speed Separators and Decanters, working as part of a team of talented Mechanical Fitter/Balancers on the disassembly and re-assembly of a variety of rotating mechanical equipment, including balancing of critical components to the standard expected of us as an OEM.

The key roles include:

Stripping a variety of Decanters in preparation for inspection

Cleaning of equipment to service/repair, including jet washing and chemical cleaning

Dismantling and reassembling of gearboxes

Rebuilding equipment following guidelines

Using technical drawings to assist in disassembly and re-assembly

Using a variety of standard hand tools (imperial & metric)

Using a variety of special tools (imperial & metric)

Handling medium to heavy duty equipment

Operating overhead cranes and lifting equipment

Understanding of Health and Safety and correct PPE demand

Building sub-assemblies for balancing

Balancing Bowls, conveyors and gearbox shells using dynamic balancing equipment

Use of welding equipment (TIG welding training given)

What you know

You have an appropriate apprenticeship or qualification in engineering. You have experience of working with hand, Pneumatic and Hydraulic tools, from a background in a workshop environment, along with the ability to interpret drawings and technical manuals that include both Imperial & Metric dimensions. You have demonstrated knowledge of a range of workshop related disciplines, and key understanding of PPE and H&S requirements typical of a workshop environment. Experience of using cranes, slings and stacker trucks would also be beneficial, although full training will be provided. You have good IT skills.
