We are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Hydraulic Engineer on behalf our Client in the Norwich area.


You will collaborate with and report to the Oil & Gas Engineering Manager. You will provide sound technical advice to Project Group's on engineering design issues and generate engineering design documentation, test procedures, specifications, manuals and specify and procure materials for projects.



Key Responsibilities:


- Solving technical problems of the highest scope, complexity, and ambiguity

- Looking for innovation opportunities between several teams with a willingness to experiment and to boldly confront problems of large complexity and scope

- Identifying problems in existing products or processes and proposing solutions

- Working with the Engineering Manager to determine the need for training and talent development, hiring and interviewing engineering employees and support.

- Checking engineering team's work for technical accuracy

- Ensuring that engineering strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality, and delivery targets and which enables the company to function and compete effectively in the market.

- Ensuring strong communication between teams under leadership to facilitate exchange of information and to implement change and improvements


Additional Duties:


- Reviewing technical and commercial aspects of project specifications with reference to project bid allowances.

- Liaising directly with clients, sub-contractors and internal departments on all technical matters relating to the design of packages.

- Designing mechanical schematic diagrams/drawings in accordance with company standards.

- Generating, for the Project Group's, all documentation required by the projects, at all stages of each contract, and at the time required.

- Ensuring, in conjunction with the various departments involved, that all certification and QA / QC requirements for each project are adequately met.

- Writing specifications for procured materials, and to raise Material Enquiries and Purchase Requisitions for materials required by the project.

- Reviewing package design and related issues in project Design Reviews with Project Engineers and Engineering Manager, as appropriate.

Essential


  • The ability to work on multi projects
  • Hitting deadlines to ensure agreed turnaround times are met for completion of project documents
  • Excellent numeracy skills with a proven track record in providing project documentation such as hydraulic schematics, design calculations, test procedures etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Minimum standard of HNC or equivalent, in Control, Mechanical Engineering


Preferred


  • Experience within the O&G industry of hydraulic control systems either operational or design
  • Familiar with components and assembly practices for hydraulic control systems
  • Desirable to BSc / BEng standard in Control, Mechanical Engineering
