Our client, a leading FMCG organisation, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their dynamic team.

Responsibilities:

Conduct proactive and reactive maintenance duties to minimise downtime and ensure efficient working time. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, participating in problem-solving and continuous process improvements. Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to ensure smooth handover and efficient maintenance operations. Adhere to maintenance schedules and prioritise production stoppages over daily duties. Install new machinery and equipment when necessary. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following health and safety guidelines. Contribute to the overall improvement of production lines and operations.

Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

Experienced fitter/engineer or City & Guilds certificate (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering. Extensive experience in fault finding, repair, and maintenance of machinery and production systems. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment. Detailed knowledge of health and safety procedures. Proficient in diagnosing faults and working with pneumatics and hydraulics. Competency in MIG, TIG, and electric arc welding.

Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

Previous experience in the FMCG industry. Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles.

Technologies:

Experience with relevant mechanical engineering tools and equipment.

Full-time role on a Continental Shift pattern of 12 hour shifts, 2 days on, 2 nights on and 4 days off.
