It is a great time to join Forgemasters, as the business goes through an ongoing period of growth and modernisation after being acquired by the UK Ministry of Defence in 2021. The acquisition has secured our role as a critical supplier to the next generation of UK defence programmes. As part of this programme of work, our plant and equipment will be modernised over the next 10 years, creating new opportunities for the business and our colleagues.
Based at our 64-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield, we are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer. This role will involve undertaking mechanical maintenance on a variety of Heavy Forge Equipment. Role Responsibilities Maintaining and carrying out Breakdown work on large Forging presses and associated equipment. Carry out Planned and Preventative Maintenance on a variety of heavy equipment. Attend to Breakdowns as and when they occur. Adhere to health & safety guidelines and working to safe systems of work at all times. About You The following relevant skills, knowledge and experience are required: Engineering Qualification. Engineering knowledge rooted in strong maintenance principles and failure prevention. Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics. In-depth knowledge of Health and Safety in the workplace and improvements made in support of H&S. Ability to influence technical decisions, based on and supported by data. Excellent Fault-Finding Skills. Ability to Work in confined spaces. Ability to Work at height.
