Job Summary As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the design, development, and delivery of custom production machinery projects. You will be responsible for managing mechanical engineering aspects from concept to commissioning, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities Project Management

Lead mechanical engineering efforts for assigned projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, electrical, and software engineers, to deliver integrated machinery solutions. Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers during project execution.

Design & Development

Develop detailed mechanical designs and specifications for production machinery using 3D CAD software (ideally Solidworks or Inventor). Conduct design reviews to ensure compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and company guidelines. Perform engineering calculations and simulations to validate design concepts.

Manufacturing Support

Provide technical support to the manufacturing team during the fabrication and assembly of machinery. Review and approve detailed drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for design-related manufacturing issues.

Testing & Commissioning

Oversee machinery testing, ensuring systems meet performance and quality requirements. Support on-site installation and commissioning at customer facilities, providing troubleshooting expertise as needed.

Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement within the design and manufacturing processes. Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies to enhance product offerings.

Qualifications & Experience Essential: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Proven experience (3-5+ years) in a similar role, preferably within an OEM or machinery manufacturing environment. Proficiency in 3D CAD software and mechanical design principles. Strong project management skills, including experience managing multiple concurrent projects. Knowledge of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, welding, fabrication) and materials. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. This is an immediate backfill for someone who has retired, so the client will look to interview ASAP.
