MECHANICAL PROJECT ENGINEER – ENVIRONMENT WARRINGTON What you will be doing: An opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Project Engineer to join the team at Galliford Try within our Environment Business. In the role of Mechanical Project Engineer, you will: Collaborate in managing and delivering projects within the Water Industry, guiding them from inception to construction completion. Conduct comprehensive site investigations and initial surveys to inform design and construction processes. Manage stakeholders and third parties to ensure accurate work scheduling and smooth project progression. Secure all necessary permits and approvals to kickstart construction activities, prioritising safety and compliance. Uphold a culture of paramount importance on Health & Safety, ensuring adherence to CDM regulations. Liaise with multidisciplinary designers, internally and externally, to facilitate seamless project integration. Work closely with delivery teams to promote integrated project delivery, including pre-construction design and buildability reviews. Produce essential construction stage documentation, contributing to project success. Engage with clients throughout project delivery, demonstrating strong communication skills. Manage subcontractors to ensure completion of site investigation and construction phases. Utilise Common Data Environments (CDE) to streamline processes and ensure compliance. Demonstrate a commitment to sustainable development, aligning with company initiatives. Possess a strong understanding of NEC Contractual requirements. Participate in internal and external progress and Cost to Complete meetings, contributing to project efficiency and success. About You: We’re seeking candidates with: Previous involvement in full or partial project delivery, ideally within the water industry. Desired mechanical qualifications, such as relevant City & Guilds certifications. Experience in industrial installations. Familiarity with CDM regulations. Professional qualification to HNC/D standard would be advantageous. Solid understanding of current legislation, with a capability to operate within QA and H&S protocols. Displays comprehension of effective teamwork, values diversity, and supports team objectives actively. Proficient communication skills, enabling constructive dialogue and challenging of norms when necessary. Capable of providing feedback sensitively and constructively. Demonstrates effective prioritisation to meet deadlines, and willingness to seek assistance when needed. Sets and exceeds challenging targets to drive personal development. Embraces learning new tasks and alternative approaches. Exhibits focus during demanding periods and adapts to evolving business requirements. Works proficiently both as part of a team and independently to fulfil organisational goals. Strong organisational abilities, adept at multitasking, and dedicated to client service excellence.
