Are you an

experienced Project Manager

looking for a role with

minimal travel

- and all of that within the North East? Opportunities for

career progression

within an established and widely respected plumbing and heating business with an

80-year heritage ? Then it may be time to talk to Westalls! J P Westall Limited is a Hexham-based plumbing, heating and renewables business which has developed an

excellent reputation

for the quality of its work and customer service over the past 80 years. The business is run by a small and close-knit office team, with a site team who are widely experienced and some of whom have been with the business for decades. The ethos of

high-quality work

and

excellent customer care

extends throughout the company – our site staff take a real pride in their work. As part of the ongoing expansion of the business we need to recruit a Project Manager to help deliver new projects efficiently and profitably, managing our diverse team effectively and ensuring projects run smoothly. Our work varies greatly – covering all aspects of plumbing and heating work in properties which include residential, country houses, commercial buildings, hotels, schools, churches, etc. Renewable technologies are a key part of current and future strategy, so some experience of renewables would be an advantage – but a willingness to undertake any necessary training is more important than qualifications at this stage. The work is very varied and would be ideally suited to someone with some previous experience of working ‘on the tools’ who understands the challenges our site team face and can support them with practical experience.

A positive attitude, good team spirit, and a commitment to excellent customer service is essential , as is experience of managing and developing site staff – as well as our longer-serving staff we also have a number of apprentices who need to be mentored and encouraged to develop their skills in the sector. Westalls is a company with a

great team ethos and a 'can-do' attitude

to provide our customers with the best possible customer service. In order to achieve this we are all flexible and prepared to wear a number of hats - we need someone prepared to muck in and help with whatever is required to get the job done. You’ll also need to be flexible in both attitude and working hours to ensure that our customers receive the very best service we can provide. Opportunities for future career progression are very much in your own hands – we are happy to invest in good staff to help them grow into management roles if that’s where you see your future. As well as a starting salary package of between £40-50K (negotiable depending on experience), we will provide a car (or car allowance), laptop and mobile phone. We also operate a contributory pension scheme for all employees, and a bonus scheme to reward above-target performance. We only operate within the North East region - and most of our work is in and around the Tyne Valley, but you will need to travel to Hexham daily and will be based at our offices there.

If you are interested in this opportunity then please apply through this site, or if you would prefer an informal chat first then call 01434 602 740 and ask for Steve Wigham.
