We are looking to recruit Mechanical Technicians who wish to continue to train and develop their skills within the Mechanical arena. You will join the Enigneering team and be somone who wants to develop and grow with the business as we repurpose the Shotton Mill site in constructing the UKs largest state-of-the-art containerboard and tissue machines. You will be involved in: Providing specialist engineering support to the manufacturing production lines, which include – Brown Board Machine, Winder, OCC Recycling plant, CHP plant, Biofuel Power plant, Waste Wood processing plant, Effluent treatment plant, Tissue Machines, MRRF recycling facility and support systems. Responding to plant breakdowns with the Mechanical team, methodically diagnosing faults to ensure the equipment is running again in a timely manner. Using and developing your technical training to be involved in Root Cause Analysis, identify solutions to problems and implement solutions. Conducting weekly/ bi-weekly and monthly routine work, such as routine inspections, corrective and preventative maintenance of plant and equipment. Installation, overhaul and maintenance of Machine Rolls and other heavy equipment. The overhaul and repair of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components and assemblies when cost effective to do so, working to a high engineering standard Professional requirments: You will have completed a 4 year Apprenticeship scheme and educated to HNC level or above in Mechanical Plant Maintenance or equivalent. You will be fluent in English both in speaking and writing. Specialist Skills: Knowledge of Mechanical equipment, Pumps, Gearbox, Screens, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Mechanical Seals, etc. Use of mobile Equipment to include Fork lift and M.E.W.P.’s. Ability to use Overhead cranes and good knowledge of Slinging and Lifting Techniques. Effective Team player with excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Proficient in welding to include, MIG, TIG, ARC and the use of Plasma cutting equipment. Knowledgeable in the use of Laser Alignment equipment for Parallel and off-set Alignments. Knowledge of basic Machining techniques using Lathe and Milling machine. Being a Self-starter and hard working with the ability to work as a team player and grow with the Business. Ability to work in a changing environment with a flexible approach. Good knowledge and understanding of health and safety. Working Conditions You will work on-site within the Mechanical Maintenance Team. Working both inside and outside within a variety of temperature and weather conditions. The ability to travel both within the UK and overseas to further develop your skills is essential for this position.
