Duties and responsibilities of the Mechanical Technician: Perform fault diagnosis, repairs, and maintenance on equipment and systems. Interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, and general arrangements. Conduct planned maintenance and address defects efficiently. Use diagnostic tools to identify faults in depot systems and components. Perform oil spill response and confined space work, including specialized training (e.g., breathing apparatus, atmosphere monitoring, rescue equipment). Respond to equipment breakdowns, fix faults, or arrange replacements and update line managers on work progress and adhere to overhaul schedules.
Qualifications and requirements for the Mechanical Technician: Participate in a rostered on-call team and be available for short-notice overtime. Must wear PPE as appropriate and instructed. Able to work in confined spaces. Compex training desirable. Must have a mechanical craft apprenticeship or minimum NVQ level 2.
