The role As a Mechanical Technician, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be working within an exciting, highly regulated and a technically challenging environment managing a varied and diverse workload. Day-to-day, you’ll operate within all legislative requirements, meeting the guidance provided in the Approved Codes of Practice. Responsibilities: Provision of any specific tools, spares or other equipment to carry out the task. Generally, non-specific hand tools will be provided by the resident Cavendish Nuclear Site Team, the Site Team, or EDF Energy. Take positive remedial action on identified unsafe working conditions or practices or refer to your superior any of these for which you cannot achieve any satisfactory solution with the resources available. Interpretation and implementation of the task, including the associated quality requirements. This role is full time, 37 hours per week and based in Heysham, Lancashire but is flexible on location and is a roving role. The working schedule for this role is Monday to Thursday. You will work 10 hours per day from Monday to Wednesday, and 7 hours on Thursday. Essential experience of the Mechanical Technician: Ideally from the Nuclear Generation industry or from a highly regulated industry. Ideally will have operated within a Mechanical role. Qualifications for the Mechanical Technician: HNC/ONC in a Mechanically biased discipline is desirable. Will have GCSE Maths & English ideally. Security Clearance The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
