The UK Safran Electrical & Power team has expertise in designing and developing electrical systems comprising generators, power conversion, distribution and control, with developing expertise in electric motors for aircraft propulsion. The Role As a Mechanical Test Engineer at Safran Electrical & Power you will work with the latest in aerospace technology to plan, organise and execute testing to support the development and qualification tests performed on Safran products. You will support maintenance of the current and future environmental and vibration testing capabilities, ensuring the team is always a step ahead with innovative testing processes and systems. You will perform data analysis of test results, utilising your analytical capabilities to assess trends in the data and identify any product concerns, offering solutions to any issues. Ability to organise and execute testing on Safran products and systems Write technical documents to support the development and qualification tests, including test procedures, compliance analyses, and equipment specifications Support maintenance and development of the current and future environmental test capabilities Plan the verification phase of a project in conjunction with the validation & verification engineering team, creating robust plans to meet project timescales and cost objectives Set up mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems including the associated electrical wiring to specific impedances Capability to find and resolve any faults in testing equipment and test rigs when required Be ready to work off site at other test houses to set up and perform testing Plan and prioritise required test work Desirable Experience We are looking for candidates with a range of skills and experience, but we’re also keen to help people grow and develop in this role. If you have some or all of the following, we’d love to hear from you: Engineering-related qualification preferable Experience using data acquisition systems such as DasyLab, Dewesoft or Labview Ability to perform development and qualification testing using various pieces of test equipment Creation of technical documentation including test plans and test reports Solid understanding of the risk assessment process, with the ability to perform and implement mitigating actions to minimise risk Evidence of written English Get involved: We also have a number of groups and forums onsite that you can get involved with, including Women at Safran, STEM ambassadors, employee forum, charity partnerships and wellbeing programme.
