Mechanically Biased Building Services Commissioning Engineer

to join their highly specialised team. The client is involved in the delivery of complex, high-security infrastructure projects within the nuclear, defense, and critical industries. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to large-scale, mission-critical projects while working in a highly regulated and innovative environment. Key Responsibilities: Lead and oversee the commissioning of mechanical building services systems, including HVAC, plumbing, ventilation, and fire suppression systems, specifically for nuclear and defense-related projects. Manage and coordinate commissioning activities, ensuring the project’s mechanical systems are successfully tested, integrated, and meet all security, regulatory, and client requirements. Ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems with electrical and control systems, while adhering to high standards of functionality and safety. Guarantee compliance with relevant nuclear, defense, and industry standards such as ISO 9001, BSRIA, and specific government regulations. Prepare and maintain commissioning plans, test documentation, risk assessments, and reports for clients, ensuring full traceability of all activities. Engage with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery, addressing technical challenges, and fostering collaboration across departments. Identify and resolve any issues during the commissioning phase, ensuring systems function as designed and meet high safety and security standards. Skills & Experience Required: Strong background in mechanically biased building services commissioning, with proven experience in HVAC, plumbing, ventilation, and fire suppression systems. Experience within nuclear, defense, or other regulated sectors is highly desirable. HNC/HND/BEng in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field. Alternatively, equivalent practical experience with relevant professional certifications. Clearance : Ideally hold

SC/DV clearance

due to the sensitive nature of the projects in the nuclear and defense sectors. Proven hands-on experience with commissioning mechanical systems in complex and high-security environments. Familiarity with industry-specific standards and regulations, particularly in the nuclear and defense sectors. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and schematics. Proficiency with mechanical commissioning tools and test equipment. Knowledge and experience with security protocols and regulations related to the nuclear and defense sectors.
