The Mechatronics Engineer RD&D Engineer job itself In this role, you will undertake the design, development, and transition into production of new or modified products and processes in accordance with company procedures. Understanding the technical design issues related to both RF and EO countermeasures and their integration into defence systems. More specifically: Act as a Mechatronics Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the work of the RD&D department. Prepare proposals for product development including Project Plans, resource scheduling and costing. Liaise with suppliers and lead development programmes with suppliers. Act as an interface between CCM and Electronic component suppliers. Support CCM instrumentation with the design development and testing of electronic test equipment. Perform development activities to agreed timescales and costs. Lead and/or support FMEA activity. Recommend enhancements to the efficacy of established countermeasure products/systems. Source materials and components for prototype manufacture. Collate data and technically report design and development activities. Maintain technical documentation and reports. Ensure the effective transition of development items into volume manufacture. You will have To be successful as a Mechatronics Engineer, you will have a healthy mix of the following: Degree or L6 equivalent in Mechatronics Engineering or Electromechanical Engineering. Experienced Mechatronics Engineer or Electromechanical Engineer at a senior level of ability. Design of mechatronic products experience. Electronic design 3D CAD experience at a good level. Experience of Project Management. Experience of New Product Development (NPD). Knowledge of collating and writing Risk Assessments. Practical Engineering Skills and Good Workshop Practice. British Citizen holding or eligible for SC Clearance.
